Focus on the environment

Renova's environment programme is very comprehensive, particularly since we offer complete solutions in all our areas of operation. We are the leading environmental company in waste management and recycling, in western Sweden. We find the most efficient and environmentally-friendly solutions.

We have certified management systems for the environment, quality assurance and work environment. Some of our services are listed below:

Vehicles

Electric-hybrid vehicleOf our approximately 170 heavy vehicles, 37 trucks run entirely on natural gas. We have 16 refuse collection vehicles that use electric-hybrid technology. The refuse compactors run on electricity and the vehicle's motor on natural gas. These vehicles are used in central Gothenburg, where the need to reduce both greenhouse gas emissions and noise is most acute.

All drivers of our trucks have completed Eco-Driving courses, in which they learn to reduce fuel/gas consumption and thus reduce emissions to the air.
All new passenger vehicles, for instance our car pool vehicles, purchased by Renova can run on gas or electricity.

Contaminated soils

Renova provides solutions to contaminated areas. We receive and process many types of contaminated soil. Contaminated soil can be processed at Kläpp composting facility.

Research grant

A research grant of SEK 100,000 is awarded each year to young researchers and doctoral candidates in the field of environmental science. The first grant was awarded in 2003. University masters and doctoral students may also do their final thesis work at Renova.

Renova's management systems

Renova has certified quality, environment and work environment management systems relating to continuous improvement. We have regular audits, both internal and external, to ensure that the procedures related to our environment, quality and work environment programmes are being followed.

Waste-fuelled district heating power plant

The environmental goals of Renova include further reductions of sulphur and nitric oxide emissions from our waste-fuelled district heating power plant. Another goal is to reduce the amount of cinter from waste incineration. These environmental protection goals are closely tied to Renova's ongoing work to ensure continuous improvement in our waste management and processing.
