Renova and the environment
Renova’s environment programme is very comprehensive, particularly since we offer complete solutions in all our areas of operation. We are the leading recycling company, finding the most efficient and environmentally-friendly solutions. We have certified management systems for the environment, quality assurance and work environment.
Some of our services are listed below:
Vehicles
Of our approximately 140 heavy vehicles, 46 trucks run entirely on natural gas. We have 15 refuse collection vehicles that use electric-hybrid technology. The refuse compactors run on electricity and the vehicle’s motor on natural gas. These vehicles are used in central Gothenburg, where the need to reduce both greenhouse gas emissions and noise is most acuteley needed.
All drivers of our trucks have completed EcoDriving courses, in which they learn to reduce fuel/gas consumption and thus reduce emissions to the air.
All new passenger vehicles, for instance our car pool vehicles, purchased by Renova can be run on gas or electricity.
Contaminated soils
Renova provides solutions to your contaminated areas. We receive and process many types of contaminated soil. Your contaminated soil can be processed at Kläpp composting facility. Renova is also expanding our vies, planninf to construct a new soil processing facility.Research grant
A research grant of SEK 100,000 is awarded each year to young researchers and doctoral candidates in the field of environmental science. The first grant was awarded in 2003. University students may also do their final thesis at Renova.Renova’s management systems
Renova has certified quality, environment and work environment management systems relating to continuous improvement. We have regular audits, both internal and external, to ensure that the procedures related to our environment, quality and work environment programmes are being followed.Waste-fuelled district heating power plant
The environmental goals of Renova include a further reduction of sulphur and nitric oxide emissions from our waste-fuelled district heating power plant. The amount of cinter from waste incineration is also to be reduced. These environmental protection goals are closely tied to the ongoing work of Renova to ensure continuous improvement in waste management and processing.
